7th IERC Symposium: Focus
on Illinois |

| The IERC hosted its seventh educational research symposium on June 9 and 10, 2009 at the I-Hotel in Champaign. Keynote speakers included Ellen Condliffe Lagemann, former dean at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and author of An Elusive Science: The troubled history of education research and Charles Payne, professor at the University of Chicago, author of So much reform, so little change. Attendance increased over previous events, with 130 participants this year from all over the state, and with representation from public and private institutions of higher education, research centers, K12 practitioners, and state policymakers. | ||
